Jessica:

Welcome to the Disneyville podcast, episode 43 where we talk about Disney parks, disney cruise and all the magic in between where really we've already been laughing till we cried. We haven't even started yet, jessica if it looks like I've been crying, it's because we I had just like a crazy laughing fit we just, yeah, we've already been losing our mind, so it's gonna be a great episode we're laughing because it's very hot in here, the air conditioner's not working and it's like the spring is just spring has just sprung.

Tyler:

It's like 80 degrees outside. It's very hot, and I keep talking about how hot it is. Anyway, that is not at all why we were laughing well, that's part of it, and then the other part of it was that we are just fun. Well, how about this part of why we were laughing?

Jessica:

Well, that's part of it. And then the other part of it was that we are just fun. Well, how about this part of why we were laughing? Let's just go ahead and start strong. Let's show our our coffee.

Tyler:

Oh, that's how it started.

Jessica:

So, first up is the mug that I'm using, which is a Disney treasure mug which, of course, today's episode if you clicked on it, you saw is all about the Disney treasure, our review, an overview, every detail you've ever wanted to know.

Jessica:

Tyler got so much footage of the ship while we were on it. So if you're watching, you're going to get, I mean, an amazing overview of this ship, whether you're wanting to go on it, whether you've booked whatever. But then anyway, I've sidetracked myself. This mug is so beautiful because, like Jasmine and Aladdin are a big part of the ship and so this one has kind of the colors of Jasmine, I would say so it's just really pretty and it says inaugural sailings as well. But the reason we were laughing so hard is because for him to get these shots he already filmed these shots and I was sitting here and to get the camera to focus on the mugs, it was looking for my eye and it would not focus on the mug and so I had to cover my eyes. But I'm in the background of the shot and I don't know why that visual is so funny to me Of you being in the background.

Jessica:

I can't think about it too much, or else I'll just start laughing again. Cause she's just in the background with her eyes you can see it, you get to see it Right, did you see it?

Tyler:

And then my mug. I think I've used this one before. They have this exact same one on the Disney treasure. We did not buy it, but it was this one says the wish on it, but they have the exact same one that says the Disney treasure inaugural sailings. I was very seriously considering it but I cause I was like, oh, maybe it'll be like a collection, but I thought, no, I'm like, honestly, you know what, where it's going to be this mug. I'm like if they had done a different color, I probably would have done it.

Tyler:

Yeah, If they had done like a collection of colors teal or a green, like the same style, everything's the same, but maybe a different color Cause I'm like I don't want they literally looked exactly the same, like I don't want six mugs that look exactly the same.

Jessica:

I don't know. Yeah, no, I totally feel that, but you're right Having that slight variation here. Mugs that they have for the Disney parks yeah, those look very similar, obviously they're going to be different because the icons on it are going to be different, but still they always do a slightly different color as well and I think that addition makes it even more just kind of interesting to have more than one.

Tyler:

I agree. So we were talking about Disney cruise line today. I got to thinking about it now. Obviously I'm a Disney parks fan. This is disney parks podcast. We love the disney parks but I gotta say over the last two or three years, yeah, I may be a convert to the disney cruise line tyler, you can have both I can have you don't have to pick.

Jessica:

That's the beautiful thing. I have just fallen in love with the disney cruise line in the last couple well, and with the prices of the parks going up, the cruise line starts to seem because originally I was like the cruise line was more expensive to go on a Disney cruise Nowadays, depending on where you're staying in Disney parks and what tickets you're getting. I'm like, well, actually, and what?

Tyler:

we always talk about is the initial cost is more. No, two ways about it. I mean okay, most of the time it's going to cost more than a trip to Disney World, depending on how you do it, but so much more is included on the cruise ships. All your meals are included, unless you do like one of the fancy meals and stuff like that, but so much is included in that price.

Jessica:

Yeah.

Tyler:

So and a lot of people will go on these cruises and not do any of the port adventures and stuff like that.

Jessica:

Oh yeah, plenty of people, yeah, so you don't have to spend extra.

Tyler:

The end you pay about the same, but you can still get off the ship. You can see these amazing places.

Jessica:

And honestly I think, the thing for us if you've got kids too, I think it's fun either way, whether you have kids or not. But if you have kids, think about the parks. The hardest part with kids is they're tired. You're tired. You're getting them to the parks. You're on the bus, everyone's hot and sweaty. You're getting back on the bus, and all of that in between on a cruise ship. You're there.

Tyler:

You're there.

Jessica:

You can leave the room for an hour to go grab ice cream, blah, blah, blah, like any of those kinds of things, and you could be back in minutes to change a diaper, like it's all just right there and that ease and not really having to worry about strollers if you don't want to like all that, it's just so well, and there was times where we were able to go up to the top deck and you and I were able to sit there and relax and read and hang out in the adult pool.

Tyler:

Yeah, because the kids were in the kids club and they love the kids clubs.

Jessica:

Yeah, like we don't get that chance in disney works, yeah, I mean, maybe we'll trade off and like you can go to the pool for a little bit, but like you don't get that option. Or like, maybe if we have family with us, but otherwise, yeah, disney Cruise is the only way to do it.

Tyler:

Or you get that relaxing atmosphere, and I will say too, like when it comes to Walt Disney World, I feel like typically within like it's like six months-ish before I start to get that itch again where I'm like I want to go again.

Jessica:

I've got the itch, I have to say.

Tyler:

With Disney World. Yeah, world, yeah. But I'm like we just got back from the disney treasure a week ago, 10 days ago, two weeks ago. Yeah, I already want to go on another disney cruise.

Jessica:

I know it happened like that well, we have another one booked in the summer, so not on the treasure, but yeah, I just love disney cruise line now, anyway.

Tyler:

So we are talking all about the disney wish. No, sorry, start over. We're talking all about the disney treasure. There you go. It is my favorite ship of all of them so far and we've done most of them.

Jessica:

There's we're gonna check one more off this summer, and then the only one we will have not done is the disney wonder yes which I eventually your mom's gonna be doing the wonder.

Tyler:

Yes, and I keep trying to tell you, I'm trying to convince jessica to go to alaska again I, you.

Jessica:

You do not need to convince me.

Tyler:

Well, we don't have one.

Jessica:

We've recently been there and I want to go other places.

Tyler:

But I want to do the Disney Wonder and I want to go back to Alaska. Yeah well, perhaps it's in our future. Anyway, we'll see, so let's delve into it.

Jessica:

I've organized iPads here by we, I mean time.

Tyler:

So okay, so in theory this will all make sense as we go along. We'll just it's kind of all laid out here and we'll just kind of talk about each individual thing here, yeah, so let's start with the main atrium area. So when you first walk in, the best feeling in the world I love when you're walking up the gangway and they say what's your family name? And you say braun, family, family and say, ladies and gentlemen of the treasure, please welcome the braun family.

Jessica:

That's like four cast members are like yay but you're like um, okay, the yeah, that is the best, and that when we came in they had the genie, wasn't it? Yes, up at the top, top, waving at everyone and being goofy, and the girls, of course, were loving it. And it's so crazy because it does feel like you go from zero to a hundred. You're walking up the gangway, whatever the plank, if you will, and suddenly you're on the ship, and then suddenly you're just like transported to disney world on a ship. You know what I mean? It's kind of almost like jarring, but in a good way, because then you're there, you're, you're like all right, we're on vacation, we made it, we're here.

Jessica:

Yeah we did it. So the theming of this is kind of like an explorer that discovers treasure, like that vibe, but also like we don't really know how to describe it. It's got like the mosaics and like the gold, like from Jasmine and Aladdin, that feeling, and there's even and actually yeah, so I bought it here because I couldn't help myself.

Tyler:

Yeah. I don't know if you can see it here. I'll do, I'll do a closeup of it, but the Aladdin and Jasmine figurine here behind me is what they have there. In the main they don't call it the atrium, they call it the grand hall, grand.

Jessica:

Did they not call it the atrium? I guess they didn't.

Tyler:

They call it. The grand Grand Hall is out there, I think. So that whole area, I think, is just about the prettiest. The Disney Wish area is really pretty, they're all really pretty. I mean the Disney Dream, they're all so pretty, but this, I think, is my favorite. I just love the colors they chose. I love the chandelier. It's, I think it's like a Lotus flower, but they have, like these, the main chandelier area, but then there's like all these kinds of ones hanging even like other hidden characters.

Jessica:

It's just so pretty I just love. The more you look at it, the prettier it gets, and it changes colors throughout the day. So every time you walk by it it looks. I don't think I reckon realize any of that about the chandelier.

Tyler:

I was too focused on all the mosaics around me and one of my favorites is one of raja oh, I know such a good boy I told jessica I had gone around one day and I had filmed like the entire ship and I didn't get any footage of Raja and I kept telling Jess, I want to go get a little footage of him, just this little mosaic. I finally went and got it and my camera was on manual focus and I didn't realize it and it's totally blurred. So like three days of like I gotta go get footage of that. It's like a three. We could have totally blurred. So like three days of like I gotta go get footage that it's like a three, just done on our phone and it'd be perfect, a genuine three second clip. But I was like, oh, he's just sitting there like looking up being a good boy and I was like finally got it and it's blurry that's, that's the way that goes, you know, oh my goodness anyway.

Tyler:

So a couple other things. They have a little stage there and then I don't know if it's every day, but pretty much every day I saw some sort of live performance there they have a couple different bands that go around um, and they have this one band called the vocatronics voca, oh, whatever it is they.

Jessica:

They go around victor phonics.

Tyler:

No, no, voca anyway voctives no, no, but they're around all the time and they're kind of doing different places, but they also have somebody who like tap dances and then they kind of perform. They They've got this really kind of like. It's a really cool band. They're all really talented and so they're performing there a lot, but they also have just all kinds of different things going on in that little stage there and then, like I said above that, there's a little door and sometimes characters will come out. When we got on the, the genie was up there waving at people. But then at 5 PM and at 10pm, I believe every day, they do this little 30 second show of Arabian nights, and so the music comes in and they have like all these fiber optics throughout the whole lobby and it just got.

Tyler:

Yeah, I never saw that they did this on the wish to. I don't remember what song it was, but they just kind of the whole lobby lights up, but it's not very long, so cool.

Jessica:

I have no idea.

Tyler:

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Jessica:

So let's talk about the staterooms. These are again kind of the same reaction to these as I had with the Wish. They're just really pretty. They're just really pretty, they're clean, and I feel like Disney, especially on their newer ships, does a really good job of thinking through how to best utilize space when you are cramped for space.

Tyler:

Yes.

Jessica:

And so obviously these are not going to be as big as a normal hotel room. If you've ever been on a cruise, you know. But I do think Disney does a great job of thinking through, like where will the whole family put their clothes? Like there was plenty of room for that. My favorite feature and I think perhaps this is just because we were in a family state room, like a deluxe family, whatever they had the extra area where there's the area where they can make bunk beds out of it if you need, but it's where the couch is, and then there's an additional area where you could pull like a Murphy bed down and next to that is a I mean it was probably only like a foot and a half wide, but it was as tall at floor to ceiling, a little like closet where you could just put I put all of the kids clothes there, diapers, like basically everything for them was in that.

Jessica:

Yeah, out of the way. It was incredible. And then that left all of the drawers and stuff. Like you had a whole drawer of camera equipment we could hang. They had plenty of hangers, like all of those things that really do make your those little logistical things.

Tyler:

It just makes it better, and the bed was big enough. You can put your suitcases under it. They have the area where, where it's a closet, and they've got a couple drawers in there. But the biggest thing, I think, for families. Well, so the beds is the smartest way to do that. A lot of these. So they have the deluxe veranda staterooms, and then they have the family ones, which have a little bit more square footage, and then they have the Murphy bed there as well, and those will sleep up to five. But then they also have the split bath, which is so, so smart. So each one has a sink, one has a toilet, one has the bath and shower, so somebody can be showering and getting ready while the other person is getting ready in the other.

Jessica:

It's so smart, it's so nice and they also have like a really nice vanity slash desk in the main area Like they really they've got a beverage cooler in there it's just so well thought out. It is and I just I loved it this my favorite cruise ship room we've ever stayed in and, of course, the decor was beautiful yeah treasury without being way over the top, like they do a really good job yeah, they had uh casita from incanto above our bed. It was beautiful.

Jessica:

I looked at that all the time I loved that and I even feel like down to the nightstands they have, and like you have your own little nightlight you can turn on to read. I'm like dang, I want that in my.

Tyler:

Where was it? Was it the dream we were on recently where they had a phone? So the nightstand is like six inches by six inches. They're really small and mine had a phone on it like a full size phone, so I basically didn't have one at all.

Jessica:

Well, you kept like lifting it and putting it on the floor and then the mouse keeper would put it right.

Tyler:

Every day. Put it back. I'm like I don't need this phone on here. I need a spot but my phone and watch and stuff every day. But I'm like it must've been like part of their protocol. They had to put it back up and so on the treasure they have the phone mounted on the wall Like what a genius idea. Yeah.

Jessica:

That is such a simple change, Um. The other thing I want to mention is that they have a curtain that can separate the main bed from the kids area, if you will, which is so nice. So we were able to like order room service if we wanted. Because it's free, we could order room service in the evening and the girls could fall asleep on the other side. Then we could shut it, have the TV on and enjoy and we're not waking them up like little things.

Tyler:

Also the TV it used to be on the older ships. They have like a 12-inch TV, something like that, maybe 14-inch TV, and it's sort of on a swivel arm that goes in between the two areas, which was nice to be able to have it swivel, so like if just the kids wanted to watch something while they're going to bed or just the adults wanted to watch something. But on this one there there was just the one. Tv was flat mounted by the big bed, but it was bigger.

Tyler:

It was a much bigger TV. That was like I don't know, 32 inch TV. It was a big size TV, yeah, so that was nice. So like that's one more thing to kind of keep in mind. And then you had a genius idea or you heard it from someone about the magnets in the rooms.

Jessica:

Magnetic hooks. So I mean this is a pretty. If you start digging into Disney Cruise like what to bring, what to pack, everyone will mention this now. But magnetic hooks, the walls, like almost everything there is magnetic, so you can buy a pack of 12 on Amazon and you could hang your hats. You could have a bunch up hang your hats, your bags, your ears, whatever lanyards.

Tyler:

However, too heavy.

Jessica:

Right, I forgot them. Yep, I was so excited I was even going to use them on the door because I bought these like Mickey battery lights to help decorate our door and I was like, oh, and then I saw how people would use the magnetic hooks like upside down to kind of hang them on the door. But so I couldn't. I was so sad. I still haven't found those magnetic hooks. Really no idea where they are, not a clue.

Tyler:

So that is the, the veranda staterooms. They obviously have a lot of other staterooms, but that was our stateroom. So if you are looking for an inside stateroom, ocean view stateroom, concierge stateroom, or if you want to do the tower suite, if you got a cool 60 grand to spend that week, um, they've got tons of different options, but that's the.

Jessica:

That's what we had in our stateroom, obviously, and that's usually what we opt for, yeah. Okay, let's talk about the decks and the pools. I think that the treasure, and so then also the wish because they're sister ships pretty much the same design, just like different theming and stuff, so they're set up the same. And the pools I feel like they did such a good job having different depths for the pools because I feel like on some of the older ships they're just most of them are very deep.

Jessica:

And so for, like kids that are still learning to swim, as a parent you had to like hold them the whole time and then let them swim and then catch them, which is fine for a period of time. But they did a great job because most of the ones were like three, let's say, two or three feet give or take, so our older daughter, who is learning to swim, could swim around but then stand up. I'm like this is so nice, and then we could sit right there on the edge, like. But then they also still had the option of a couple of deeper pools, so we got in those a couple of times too.

Tyler:

So I love that spread of different options. Yeah, so the way that it's kind of set up is there like these tiers versus like one or two big pools. There's like there is the, the larger pool right under the funnel vision giant tv there's another one kind of opposite of that. And then they're just kind of set up going up this tiered system and they have, like I said, three feet ones, that they have like some one foot ones, and then they have what? Are they? Five feet deep?

Jessica:

they're not super deep, but they're but they're deep enough for, like a young kid couldn't stay, but they can truly.

Tyler:

That's all sort of in the main area, but having those different options is great. And there were so many times where we were in a pool like kind of by ourselves, because there's so many different options.

Tyler:

Yeah, it was amazing but then, also in the back, they had the Chippendale pool. I want to say it was called or no. Maybe that was in the front, that was in the front. They had the adults only pool and then they had other areas where you could just like literally sit and put your feet in, like they have so many different variations of water.

Jessica:

I don't think we got in every single one, and we were. We spent a lot of time at the pool.

Tyler:

Now, one thing I will say is they only had, as far as I could see, one hot tub.

Jessica:

That's the only one I saw, that's all I found too, and it was kind of on the side.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

I think it was in the adults area, which makes sense. Again, I feel like kids do whatever you want and like, depending on where you are, but oftentimes I feel like in the past when we've been around a hot tub on vacation it's just filled with kids. You're like it's not, is what it is, it's a disney. I just feel like they're just always packed it, just that's it.

Tyler:

But I'm like this, being in the adult only area, is nice, um, and there's probably one in the concierge area too, but yeah, so that's. One thing is there's not as many hot tips as there usually are. So when it comes to slides, there's a couple slides. They have the slidosaurus rex, which is the big yellow slide on the side. I did not get to do that. I really wanted to. It's the same one they have on the wish as well. Really wanted to do it didn't looks fun, but really, what we're all there for is the aqua mouse so fun, so fun, so fast though 60 seconds like done, yeah, but it wasn't.

Jessica:

I will say this like I'm not big into like traditional water slides, this one you're sitting. If you're like me, you will love this because it's two people. Our six-year-old did it with us and she loved it. You're sitting on a raft with them holding on. You're never like underwater or anything submerged, but um, it's kind of like there's a little bit of storyline. I learned from some kids in line that the theme of the mickey shorts that you're seeing on the way up are different every day on the ship yeah it's a different short, like a different.

Jessica:

So like one day it was like egyptian. I'm trying to remember what it was, mermaids or something, I think on the day we did it. But anyway, yeah, so you get a little bit of that storyline and then you're just sliding around on the thing. It's so fun.

Tyler:

It is, it's very fun, but yeah, it's, it's pretty short and the uh again, the wish has it as well, but it's nice because they have the time up there. I mean it literally is a roller coaster, quote, unquote. So just like at a theme park they have a wait time listed so you can kind of know.

Tyler:

I would say there was a couple times where it's down to like 10 minutes, which is nice, because on the wish, uh, they do a lot of like three and four night cruises, so like people are trying to pack everything in really fast, but with the treasure being seven night cruises, there's a little less pressure to do everything all at once.

Jessica:

So there was a lot of times where the the wait time was a little bit less especially like when it first opened, or like if you stayed on during, uh, like when you you were in port.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

That's. I mean, that is the ideal time to do it, first thing in the morning or when you're in port, because a lot of people are getting off and so you know there's just literally less competition, less people on the ship.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

So fun.

Tyler:

I'm so glad we did it.

Jessica:

I would have written it so many times. It was so fun, me awesome splash pad. This one was toy story themed, just like the wish.

Tyler:

I'm pretty sure it was too.

Jessica:

And there's like some little slides in there too that were really fun for that age. So love that little area. I feel like they always do such a good job.

Tyler:

And just beyond.

Tyler:

That is another little like one foot pool with like a little waterfall as well, yeah, and so they can play in there too and the grownup you can just sit on the side. Yeah, they have a little right outside that. They have like a tiered thing. It actually looks at the tower suite, but this tiered sitting area where you can just sit and relax, uh, and then I think at the top is the currents bar too. So they've just kind of another area where you can kind of sit and relax, the kids can play. They've got the pool, all kinds of stuff over there. It's also the area where they have wheezy's freezies, which is just the greatest name I've ever heard Greatest name ever.

Tyler:

We never bought anything there, but I just love that they had Wheezy's Freezy's.

Jessica:

It's just. It makes me think of my childhood, that's all I can't do yeah. So, as he kind of quickly alluded to, there's the Quiet Cove, which is the adults only area on the back of the ship. It's kind of one of those like infinity pools where it looks like it goes off. Um, it was lovely. We were in there for a while. There's a bar right behind it. If you want to get a real drink or a mocktail or Sprite, whatever, get yourself Coke.

Tyler:

Yeah, they have the Cove bar there and then they have the Cove cafe as well, around the corner, where you can get some espresso. You can get, um, all that kind of stuff there, um. But yeah, the infinity pool was cool, but they have these seats in it.

Tyler:

So, like on one side is seats and then on the other side you can just kind of stand, but they've got the glass and you just look out over the ocean. It's beautiful, but they have these seats and, for whatever reason, you cannot sit in these seats no, and everyone was talking about it.

Jessica:

Like you sit and you just like slide. So I'm like I wonder if they do it on purpose, because that way people aren't too comfy and they don't stay in there for like hours. Honestly, maybe so then there's a little more turnover because I'm like I can't sit in this anymore. I had my like, did I bring my book or my kindle or maybe so anyway, I'm trying to read and I'm sliding all around. I'm like I can't. Yeah, I had to like sit on my knees it was interesting.

Tyler:

There's a woman sitting next to us that had a paper book. I'm like it's pretty dangerous, you're slipping and sliding in here. It was so funny.

Jessica:

All right, let's talk restaurants okay, the main place you will go, and probably will go first thing when you're on the ship, is Marceline Market. That is their buffet, only open for breakfast and lunch. Right, I think the buffets used to be open for dinner back in the day Not on this ship, obviously it's new, but like and I can't verify that for sure- Well, I don't remember if Disney did A lot of other cruise lines. Maybe that's what I'm thinking of, like we've done Norwegian and yeah.

Tyler:

That's it. And they're always like pushing people to go to the buffet instead of going to the sit-down meals on other cruise lines, but here.

Jessica:

Disney does the opposite. They push you to go to the sit-down. I think it's crowd control too.

Tyler:

That's probably part of it. Yeah, Well, and I think part.

Jessica:

Like, we ordered all this food, you guys.

Tyler:

Yeah, for the restaurants. I am always amazed at the waitstaff on the Disney Cruise.

Jessica:

Line. They're so great.

Tyler:

They are the hardest workers.

Jessica:

Truly they're amazing.

Tyler:

They're just absolutely amazing, every single one of them, and there's hundreds of them, but anyway. So Marceline Market, I will say it doesn't seem quite as big as some of the other buffets, like there's not as many, and I don't know that to be true.

Jessica:

It just didn't feel like there was many options. Gosh, I don't feel that way.

Tyler:

And it repeats, you know, as you go, it's like a whole half circle, but anyway, yeah it was, everything I got was pretty good, pretty good I feel like it was better than sometimes.

Jessica:

The food I got there was better than in the sit-down. That just depended on the night and what you ordered, very much. So, yeah, friends, justin and Lacey, from our zero, and they're also editing this podcast right now. Anyway, they're big, big, big Disney Cruise people.

Tyler:

If you follow their channel, you would know, and they have Disney treasure vlogs too, so if you're wanting to hear more about the Disney treasure, go follow their channel and watch their vlogs.

Jessica:

Yes, he was mentioning that. He actually after going on like the treasure and the wish, and experiencing Marceline market the way they do the buffet where you don't serve yourself, they serve you.

Tyler:

That's what I was going to say.

Jessica:

And I remember when we first went on the wish last time and that was the new change we were like, oh, like it was I kind of miss being able to serve myself. But he said they went on another I want to say the wonder of the fantasy recently for a quick trip and he was like I kind of felt like they, you were serving yourself and he kind of like suddenly was like I kind of feel grossed out, like I think I do prefer the way it was, like the way that it is on the wish and treasure. So I wonder if they'll ever make the change on the older shit. I and I guess we'll see.

Tyler:

Yeah, no, definitely like the idea of them serving people definitely was cleaner it was much cleaner and I just feel like they have safety protocols, they have health protocols that they have to follow that a lot of people on the cruise ship are just not going to follow but even grabbing, you know, rolls with your hands and touch another and move in. One day it's like oh I I much, much, much prefer this system there's also probably a lot less food waste, which is great yeah but even like when it comes to like the soft serve ice cream on other ships, you can do it yourself.

Tyler:

I am so happy that they do it for you. A I cannot do those things. I don't know.

Jessica:

Oh, I'm a pro baby.

Tyler:

Mine always looks so dumb.

Jessica:

That is the one thing I actually wish was self-serve.

Tyler:

See, I still don't but see.

Jessica:

You can get a smaller cone, bigger cone.

Tyler:

I can and I don't. Have like a bunch of like you know eight year olds in front of me with their sticky hands and touching everything and I'm like they. They get six cones and then they touch them all and they put them back.

Jessica:

Yeah, this is much better. This is a better system Anyway.

Tyler:

So yeah, marceline market, I would say was was pretty good.

Jessica:

Yeah, we always give the advice of scope out your table first, claim it, then get your food, because otherwise you're going to be carrying around your food and not finding a place to sit, because during certain times it is insanely busy. So, but we've always been able to find a table, so just keep looking. Okay, the main restaurants there are three on this ship. The three were Coco, worlds of Marvel and 1923.

Tyler:

We did not experience these three restaurants equally on this trip.

Jessica:

We did not. So, in fairness to us, there were some things that colored not anything Disney, that colored our view of some things. So, with the three restaurants, try to be as unbiased as possible, but give you the information.

Tyler:

I'll just say this we went to a 1923 one time, went to worlds of Marvel One time. We went to Coco four times. Just the way the cookie crumbled, yeah. So Coco was our first night. So that's just the way we just got set that night. So that was great. We'll talk about the actual restaurants here in a second. Then we did worlds of Marvel the next night 1923, the next night. Then we took a night off and we ate at the Mickey's friendship fair I always want to call it Mickey's festival of foods. Then we went to on Shantae, which we'll talk about in a second, and then back to Coco, and then our disembarkation breakfast was at Coco. So we went to Coco.

Jessica:

so many times we were at Coco and there was one more in there at Coco for Pirate's Night like before we started taking nights off. So I will say this Coco was my favorite. So if we were going to be eating in one a bunch of times, I am so glad it was Coco. I loved it every time. The last night's food oh my gosh.

Tyler:

So good.

Jessica:

They were like empanadas and every single thing we got I was like this is the best meal we've had other than enchante. This is the best meal we've had.

Tyler:

I'm like man, but so okay, yeah, a little little little story time. So the cocoa restaurant was good. The food was usually pretty good, especially that last night. The show was great. I loved the show. They have live performers in the middle. The mariachi come out. They play live music. It's so fun. It's really good. The makeup they did on the Incredible.

Tyler:

It was so good, loved it. Now, when we were on the Wish, they have a frozen version of basically this exact same restaurant and, for whatever reason, we were stuck way back in the back, right by the kitchen. So, and for whatever reason, we were stuck way back in the back, right by the kitchen so we couldn't really hear the performers. The kitchen staff is constantly back and forth with giant trays of 400 plates of food, I mean every three seconds. So we're trying to dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge as these people are going by and I was like it's fine, you win some, you lose some. Obviously, somebody has to sit here, no big deal. Same exact thing happened on this cruise. I'm like what are we doing wrong?

Jessica:

I can tell you Hold on. I think I know exactly what happened.

Tyler:

Hold on. So we're way back in the back, could barely see it. The kids didn't even care about the show because we were so far away they didn't. I don't think the kids even realized there was a show going on because we were so far away. I wouldn't have minded so much If it weren't for the fact that on our first night we gave him our name and our room number. He leads us to the front row, shows us a table sitting right by the stage. We were like yes, and he goes oh, I'm so sorry, this is not your table.

Jessica:

And then proceeds to literally all the way to the first table when you enter the restaurant like that far central.

Tyler:

We went from the closest table and I was so excited to the furthest table away. I was so sad. That was such a letdown and what.

Jessica:

That was a letdown, but I will say it, it was still awesome and it was kind of cool being where we were, because, as the characters were leaving and coming in, we were the last people they saw. So some of them stopped and they were like get a picture and like we're like all right, cool, like yeah, so you know it was what it was. But I think the reason this keeps happening to us is because we don't always book our cruises in like a far enough advance, so we're stuck with the later dinner time but we want the earlier. So then we put in a request for the earlier dinner time and it gets granted like the day we get there, and so we're usually just given like the last table. So and that happened, I think, both times so we need to book our next cruise earlier request. I think on the one we've already booked it's still too close and we've got the later dinner time Like dang it.

Tyler:

It is what it is, but yeah again, I wouldn't have minded so much if it wasn't such a tease, I know, okay, okay.

Jessica:

So 1923, I'll tell this story. When we went there, I wasn't feeling great. However, I also think I just ordered all the wrong things, because you ordered what they recommended, which was the filet mignon, and I tried to bite ears and it was so good.

Tyler:

It was so good Class of Lagavulin filet mignon you were.

Jessica:

You were living it up that night and I'm over there like I don't feel good and none of this is good, like it was just one of those nights that it just wasn't a great night. So I don't blame the restaurant, I blame what I ordered. We have definitely learned not all food is created equal at the restaurants. Yes, Whatever the waiter tells you to order, order that and just trust, unless it's obviously something you really won't like. But here's a caveat to that. Okay.

Tyler:

You usually have a head waiter and an assistant waiter. Your head waiter is going to give you the chef recommendations. Usually that's like an eight out of ten. Yeah, you're going to want to ask your assistant waiter be like hey, come here. Is that actually good? Because I feel like sometimes the chef recommendations are.

Jessica:

Here's what we're trying to get rid of I don't know that that's true on the cruise ship, because they're always doing the same.

Tyler:

Maybe not but also you want somebody on your team who's going to tell you what's what's what.

Jessica:

Yeah, there were a couple times our assistant waiter was like awesome, um, you're going to get a dip at tonight's dinner and uh, it's awful. It's awful. He's like you can try it.

Tyler:

But it's awful. He's like. I don't know why we keep serving it. It's so bad.

Jessica:

Anyway. So, um, but 1923, get the steak, you'll be happy. Um, and then worlds of Marvel. Yeah, I think that was the most fun I think I had in a restaurant, I agree. And honestly, I got the the in there, like there's screens everywhere, yeah, and it's all about ant-man and the wasp, which I know you've seen, but like me and the kids have not seen any of it, but they were enthralled yeah, the whole time.

Tyler:

Yeah, it's the same show. It was the most fun dinner we had, for sure, yeah. And then there's a secondary show, um, which we did not see because we took that night off. I think that was the night we went to Enchante and we missed that second show. But they have a secondary show as well. And that was the thing about Coco too, is I mean, every time we went there was a different show.

Jessica:

Yeah. So there's two shows there, two shows at Marvel and then 1923, no show. No show, just vibes. Walt Disney vibes, yeah. So what became our favorite on this trip were the walk-up windows. So this is like near the pool area. It's called what was it? Mickey and friends festival of foods. It's different stalls you can walk up to. They had I see you typed it out we've got mickey's smokestack barbecue. Oh my gosh, my mouth is water. I'm very hungry. Literally pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, coleslaw. You can get it on the sandwich, you can just get it straight up like so good they had ribs there too, I'm pretty sure, and they had um there's never a line there.

Jessica:

I'm like what are you guys doing?

Tyler:

it was like kind of in the back, I think maybe people didn't know it was so good you guys.

Jessica:

My mouth is watering just thinking about that. That's what I want tonight it was so good um donald's cantina which were like you could do tacos we did like a, almost like a qdoba bowl yeah you know what I mean it was good um, very good daisy'sies. The kids loved the pizza there. And then Goofy's Grill, which made, I have to say, the best hamburger I had on this trip. It was so good.

Tyler:

And the chicken tenders. They'll change your life. Oh, and they had like hot dogs.

Jessica:

Oh, the chicken tenders Come on.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

I had just an unfathomable amount of chicken tenders, chicken tenders and soft serve.

Tyler:

I mean, it was so good. Honestly, I kept joking. I'm like I could eat just this, the Festival of Foods, because it's all of it. They're constantly making it so like it's very fresh.

Jessica:

Oh my gosh, I'm just hungry. This is a bad time to be talking about it.

Tyler:

My recommendation would be to eat at those walk-up windows over Marceline.

Jessica:

Especially for like lunch and then that's closed for dinner. So if you were to skip the sit down, your only option really is the festival of food.

Tyler:

Goofy's grill was open during dinner, so you could still go get chicken tenders.

Jessica:

No, that's what I'm saying. No, festival of foods was open during dinner.

Tyler:

No, it wasn't Remember. We went and the only thing that was open was Goofy's grill.

Jessica:

That's why all four of us ate chicken tenders.

Tyler:

They really forced you in.

Jessica:

That makes sense.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

Because I'm like, why? Okay, anyway, now I'm spiraling.

Tyler:

But yeah, I would say Marceline. I mean Marceline was good, but all the food there was so good Everything. I got.

Jessica:

And we sat. We ended up getting the food and we sat and watched Funnel Vision and ate our chicky tendies. Yeah.

Tyler:

Yeah, that burger was really good. Oh, so good. So then they have two specialty coffee shops. They have hey hey Cafe and then the Jade Cricket Cafe, which are their two coffee shops that you have to pay extra for, but you can get a little card and it's six cups right.

Jessica:

I think buy five, get the six free. That's what it is, if I remember right, yeah.

Tyler:

So they stamp it each time you go. You can get a fancy cappuccino or whatever.

Jessica:

You got like an espresso once you can get teas, cold brew. They had there. We did a couple Um and it was great every time, Much better than what you get like in the restaurants and at, but still we drink a ton of just the regular coffee and it was just fine.

Tyler:

Yeah, and they've got the like laser machines or whatever they are, where they can make the little thing on top of yours had stitch on it at one of the times.

Jessica:

Yeah, so it's pretty cool it's. I mean, if you get the sixth one free, it's worth it. But it's really either way. Like what we were ordering like was a lot of the brood stuff, so it was only like two or three dollars. It wasn't now I guess we didn't really get a super fancy drink. Maybe it would have been more expensive but, either way, so we didn't spend a crazy amount and we got our sixth one yeah free, all right, adults only dining yes these are.

Jessica:

If you're new to like disney cruise line, there's the three sit-down ones we talked about. That's included, but you can opt to get a reservation for one of these. You know many steps above nice, nice, nice restaurants, like you're dressing up to go.

Tyler:

They have a dress. They do have a dress code.

Jessica:

It's not like crazy no they're still like understanding, but like people were dressed, a guy was in a tux while we were there yeah, so I think it's.

Tyler:

It's pretty, it's relatively laid back, but it's still a high end atmosphere, so it's and you're, you would feel weird if you were super underdressed, like you'd want for men. I think it's collared shirts, pants and closed-toed shoes for women.

Jessica:

It was like dresses or dresser trousers, I don't know.

Tyler:

Yeah, so it's not like must wear suit jacket, but but it's. I mean, I wore a suit jacket and that fit kind of right. Yeah, and I just wore a dress. Um, so then they have on almost every cruise ship they have the two Palo and Remy, or Palo or whatever this one, and on the wish they have Enchante, which is like Lumiere's restaurant. Right and it's like a step above. Remy's is kind of how our and it's like a step above.

Jessica:

Remy's is kind of how our was nice. I mean, it was like the kind of nice where there's a crumb, they're like brushing it off. You know what I mean. Like you get up to go to the restroom, he walked me to the restroom and walked me back, which I didn't love, but anyway. And then, um, but when you're not at the table, they would like refold your napkin.

Tyler:

And when you get back, they put it back and like we're talking yeah silly level of fancy a uh, one of the waitresses, who was not even our waitress, walked me to the bathroom because she saw that I got up and she listen.

Jessica:

I was hand in hand with the french guy the way there and the way back and I was like I'm not returning, you just said you didn't like it.

Tyler:

Well, depending on who was taking me so, yeah, it is fine fine dining and the prices reflect that, so keep that in mind. But it is, I mean, kind of a once in a lifetime experience. We've been lucky enough to do Paolo and Remy in the past. This is by far my favorite. It was the food I think was better.

Jessica:

Remy was close, though Remy was also very fancy. I felt like it was this level.

Tyler:

But honestly I think the food was a little bit so. In Remy they have an American menu and a French menu. Here they just have the French, but they have a couple different options.

Jessica:

They had two.

Tyler:

yeah, it's the same chef though at both Remy and Enchante, but the atmosphere I liked so much more here than at Remy.

Jessica:

And you're literally like every table is overlooking the ocean, which is gorgeous. It is just truly. You feel like you're at least getting what you're paying for, and I think that is the key.

Tyler:

It's a lot of small plates. I think we had five different.

Jessica:

Well cause it was like many courses Right.

Tyler:

So it's five courses, then a cheese course, then dessert, then an extra dessert.

Jessica:

And then we'll. And of course we're thinking like, oh, I'm going to still be hungry after this.

Tyler:

I was no stuffed. It is not one of those places where you leave hungry.

Jessica:

Yeah, you think you're gonna based on the portion. Somehow you are incredibly stuffed by the end.

Tyler:

I will say every single thing, every single thing I got was served with some kind of foam. They're really into foam. I don't know what this foam?

Jessica:

thing is. Obsession is yeah, there's a lot of foam, yeah, and they're spooning the foam on it and then they leave the foam in case you want to dip like it was so foamy it was very, but it was good.

Tyler:

Yeah, all the phones were good loved it though.

Tyler:

So the other one is paulo steakhouse. Now on the other ships they have paulo. This is paulo steakhouse, which is a little bit different, but it's obviously just more towards the steakhouse. So it's italian versus french and it's a steakhouse. That's kind of all you need to know. Yeah, and then the lobby essentially of those two restaurants is called the Rose, which we'll talk about bars here in a minute, but that's also in that adults only area. Actually, you know, I don't know if kids could go into the Rose portion.

Jessica:

I don't know. I'm going to bet no, probably not.

Tyler:

Anyway, you can sit there, have a drink before your reservation.

Jessica:

Or you could just go and have a drink. Yes, exactly you don't have to, and it is gorgeous, so keep that in mind. Looking out over the ocean, it's the prettiest bar you could possibly stumble into.

Tyler:

Yeah, and it's all Beauty and the Beast themed. It's just gorgeous. Highly, highly highly recommend getting a reservation for either one of those restaurants before you go. Either you get it or have your travel agent get it for trip. Before we even kind of thought like maybe we will do it, because we thought no, we're not going to have time, we're not going to do it. And then I went to the guest services and they had a reservation available. They called the restaurant and then the restaurant called me later and they were able for the exact date and time we wanted.

Tyler:

I'm like well, that was unbelievable so definitely, but you can't just worth a try.

Jessica:

It's worth a try because odds are you'll be able to get a reservation.

Tyler:

Yeah, but they are. They are required. You do need to have one.

Jessica:

So bars and lounges we can? Um, well, I was going to say we could go through this part quickly, but nevermind, cause I just thought about which bars and lounges we're talking about. Even if you don't drink, okay, stay with me, because you do not need to drink to be able to enjoy how incredible these spaces are and every place and they offer incredible mocktails there that you don't want to miss.

Jessica:

So I wanted to say that before we, in case you were like I'm just going to fast forward, Don't Okay, let's start with the first one. We saw Skipper Society.

Tyler:

Yes, so one of the reasons that I loved the treasure so much was there are so many park tie-ins, so I'm like this is the ship for park lovers. Yeah.

Jessica:

This is it. This is the one.

Tyler:

It's so good and I love, love skipper society. And you first walked in. This is where the bayou is on the wish. If you've been on the wish, you first go in. I'm like this is really cool. I'm kind of looking around, but the more you sit there and the more you look around, the more you see all these details from the jungle cruise that allude to the jungle cruise. It is so good. My couple of my favorites were around the bar. They had like the sail or not sail, like the a little like canvas top yeah that goes around the top as, like the apron of the bar, loved that.

Tyler:

Then the lights hanging down were the skipper helmets so cool, it's just so cool. And then they had two like booths on either side and they had all these like hidden park references and stuff. Like one of them had a paddle that said you know the years the parks opened, but then, if you look above it, they had these glass parrots as chandeliers, which is a reference to the tiki room, because when they first started doing this, it was going to be a restaurant. But then people thought, you know, they didn't want to do it as a restaurant because they were like well, people are going to think the birds are going to poop in their food, so that's kind of an allusion to that, like there's just so many references and the more you look around, the more you find.

Jessica:

That's awesome, yeah, and they would have like live performances there. Oftentimes it's kind of one that's like an open lounge there, it's not like behind a door, right, so you walk on either side of it there's hallways, so you end up passing it a lot, yeah, honestly, but it was. That was amazing, and then I mean the best one that I've ever been into, ever.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

Is the Haunted Mansion Parlor.

Tyler:

Oh my gosh, it was so well done Amazing.

Jessica:

So well done. Such a love letter to people that love the Haunted Mansion or just the parks. Yeah, there's like a little entrance area that you can walk in, and Genevieve was loving it because when you would walk in front of a certain like frame, a ghost would appear that would say hurry back, which was so cool, and if you're a magic band if you have the Disney Band Plus a little plug to maybe get it.

Jessica:

You used it to unlock your door, you can pay for things etc. We loved having in this time, but they would like buzz and light up at different times, like during the marvel show etc. Yeah, well, when you enter the haunted mansion area it would also buzz and light up. So anyway, you can go in and like before the hours of I want to say like 7 pm double check that. But around then kids can go in there too, and so you can all go in and explore and sit down. There were a few times we just walked in and just walked around because there was nowhere to sit.

Jessica:

But you can do that. You can just walk in, explore it. You don't have to go in and order anything.

Tyler:

And again, because this is a seven night cruise, it's not so crucial to get everything done as fast as you can. So like there were times when we went and there was several seats open, versus like on a three or four night cruise, like I feel like you just don't have time to do that.

Jessica:

Yeah, maybe there's kind of like miniature shows or goings on that occur throughout the time that you're in the room, so having a moment where you can actually sit and stay for 30 minutes or so, every few minutes there's just something new that happens the lights might dim, you might hear a little bit of music, you might see paintings change or come alive, so there's just so much that occurs. That is super, super cool. Madam Leota may float around somewhere, but we ordered some drinks there and it was like you. There's like an iPad. They show you that has a menu right, and you're kind of scrolling through it and one of them says something like your ipad and then turn it upside down, whatever, and it'll reveal a special menu item, something like that.

Jessica:

It's like I had a code or yeah, and so we did it and it revealed, you know, some kind of drink where it was like two different ones.

Tyler:

It was a a line from haunted mansion.

Jessica:

You had to put the words in, that's what it was, and of course we could do that, and so that revealed the special menu item and it was like two different drinks served on this really cool thing.

Tyler:

We'll show you some b-roll if you're watching yeah, they were so good gin on one side and bourbon on the other which was kind of perfect yeah, and so it came out like a smoking goblin. She had like a smoking thing that like created.

Jessica:

It was just so neat and it was just so fun to be in there. My favorite thing in there was actually the thing that made me question my own remembrance of the ride. So when you first walk in, the main part of it is this big aquarium with these like skeleton fish floating around. It's really bizarre Almost gives like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, vibes, you know, kind of Jules Vernian. So I was like what is this doing here? And I'm thinking through it. I'm like I don't remember this on the ride or like in the line.

Tyler:

We kept trying to go through it.

Jessica:

We could not figure it out and of course we didn't have internet to like look it up.

Tyler:

And we're like we know this pretty well. There's no way we can't figure this out.

Jessica:

Yeah, know exactly their channel name, but anyway, they did this deep dive in a haunted mansion. I was watching it like a week after the cruise, so like a week ago, and they suddenly talked about these original plans that different people had for the haunted mansion that got scrapped and one of the biggest ones was this aquarium with skeleton fish, exactly like this.

Tyler:

So they brought it to life finally on the ship and I just thought that was such a cool frog or an octopus yeah, some kind of weird sea monster like we're like what is this in reference?

Jessica:

to. So cool I will say that's like a deep, deep, deep it is.

Tyler:

I will say, though I don't think that should have been the centerpiece no, I would agree with that. That doesn't make sense to be like the thing in the middle of this restaurant that should have been over on the side is like a cool, like extra nod they should have been cool if they had madame leota floating in the center that come on like that on a table like that would have been cool they could have done I mean like the coffin, like lifting up.

Jessica:

They could have done the piano playing there's a million way I could have done.

Tyler:

It's super cool that they went with this very, very deep, yeah disney factoid yes, but yeah, if you just just go in there, just go in there and spend 30 minutes, it was okay, so cool. So scat cat lounge is based off the aristocats. It's kind of just. It's right off the main lobby. Just a bar, it's a piano bar, which is really cool they have we love a piano bar.

Jessica:

We went in there multiple times yeah I mean other than the fact.

Tyler:

I mean there's not really much to talk about. They just keep your eye on the navigator app. They they have like Broadway, they'll do pop songs, they'll do all kinds of different things throughout the day and just sit there and relax and watch the piano and look around at the aristocats on the walls. Then Periscope Pub this, I feel like.

Jessica:

Swing and a miss.

Tyler:

Swing and a hit, but swing and a miss. So the Periscope Pub is based off of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Jessica:

Super cool.

Tyler:

The theming is so cool and I actually went in one day. The door was open and no one was in there, so I got some really cool footage. If you look all around, they've got this nautical stuff. You feel like you're underwater. They have this amazing thing above your head and it looks like dolphins are swimming above your head. It is so cool. Love the theming. But there's like 4 000 screens playing sports and there's like 4 000 people in there at all times a day besides the one time sports.

Tyler:

So like it's this amazing theming that doesn't really have anything to do with. So it basically is just a really just loud sports bar, which obviously a sports bar. I mean, people obviously want to watch sports. People are in there all the time. People love that. But I'm like it really. I felt so I wanted just the theme of the submarine in a casey's corner pub.

Jessica:

Okay, I've got all the ideas that can be the sports bar. Absolutely, I totally get it. People wanting to be able to, like sure, keep an sports bar but then save that theme and do it in a separate bar for people that will appreciate it. And I also said if they weren't playing all the sports and stuff and it wasn't so loud, they could have had like weird, like underwater sounds, like playing. I would have loved that. So I feel, like I get why they did it.

Tyler:

And there's only so much space.

Jessica:

And I guess, if you're going to have a sports bar, why not give it an awesome Disney theme like that? But you know it's just like, oh man.

Tyler:

Yeah, we. We would have spent a lot more time in there, I think, had it not been just yeah.

Jessica:

Anyway, it is what it is.

Tyler:

Um, but yeah it's very yeah, they have that area where we'll talk about so robbie here in a second. Then there's like two. Like they have this area called triton lounge. They could have made that into a sports bar like they.

Jessica:

That really is only used, although they needed triton lounge for, because a lot of the things we did was in triton, so they still needed that space. You know they just need more space. They're gonna have to make the ships bigger, tyler, it's just utopia of the seas over here.

Tyler:

Okay so, oh, one quick thing here the mug club. Speaking of bars, love the mug club. It's this thing where you pay I think it's $17.99, $22.99, whatever. It's not too much. But you get a souvenir Disney Cruise Line mug and, like mine, says the Disney treasure on it, you get a 20-ounce. So if you're a beer lover, you get a 20 ounce pour for the price of a 16 ounce pour and then you get to keep the mug and when you're out on the pool deck they'll give you a like plastic one and you just keep trading out the mug while you're on the ship and then you get to take the mug home as well, and then they'll. Actually, if you don't want to carry the mug around with you, they'll give you a card so you can trade your mug and they'll give you a card. So just something if you have a beer drinker in your family and you want a souvenir mug. The mugs are pretty cool. Just wanted to throw that out there where we're talking about this.

Jessica:

Yeah, so we already talked about the Rose Bar and then Preludes. Oh, it's just like the concession stand bar outside the Walt Disney Theater.

Tyler:

Yeah, where I got an $11 glass of wine and they charged me $50 for it.

Jessica:

Yeah, we got that figured out. But yeah, they charged for the whole bottle.

Tyler:

Yeah, they charged me for a bottle.

Jessica:

We were like well, then, give us the bottle.

Tyler:

Anyway, they, they, they, they refund us anyway. So then a couple of bars outside too. I mean, there's just little bars outside.

Jessica:

They'll look around a corner, you'll find them. They're everywhere yeah.

Tyler:

Specialty shops. They have jumbos, uh sweets, which is based off of Zootopia, the big elephant elephant that gives the popsicles and stuff out I genuinely did not think about it and from a distance I was like oh no, yeah, jumbo, as in the um.

Jessica:

From inside out, what's his name? The like imaginary friend, like they sing the song yeah, anyway, bing bong bing bong. I was thinking it was bing bong.

Tyler:

I didn't even like think deeply on the wish it's joy joyful treats, I think, is what it's called, and that one is inside out, but this one is utopia. So they've got the. That makes way more. Wish it's joy joyful treats, I think, is what it's called, and that one is inside out, but this one is zootopia. So they've got the. That makes way more sense. It's so cute, I love it. But it's a specialty sweet shop so they have like you have to pay to get it, but they have cupcakes and ice cream and cookies and you can get by the way.

Jessica:

If you order like cupcakes, whatever, you can actually have them.

Tyler:

Deliver that to your restaurant to have as your dessert that's awesome if you, if you didn't know Um, and then Wheezy's, Freezy's, which again. I just love that Okay, let's talk kids clubs.

Jessica:

Okay, we'll be brief because I know not everyone listening has kids, but there are two different ones. One is included and that is the Oceaneer club. That's ages what? Three through 12. And then there's the older kids clubs. I should say there's like the teens, yeah, and the teens.

Jessica:

And then there's like sometimes they'll have the 1820 society where it's like between if you're between 18 and 20, you can do stuff. So I'm not really talking about those, but those are the same thing, they're included. You're not paying any extra. Um, so, briefly, we'll talk about the one that you do pay extra for, which is age zero through three, and that is the nursery it's called. It's a small World Nursery. It is darling.

Jessica:

The cast members that work there are amazing. You pay hourly and you do. You're supposed to make reservations for like a couple hours at a time. They were. This was a very full sailing and we were able to get. We made some reservations but then we needed to change a bunch of them, but we did it the day we got on the ship there at the nursery, and she even said she was like you came at the right time because in a few hours a lot of these time slots will be taken, like the time slots you'd want, like right after dinner, they've eaten, you take them there for a few hours so you and your significant other could go to the show you know, so definitely do it early and if you haven't done it ahead of time or you need to change stuff, go there the day you get on the ship and get it done.

Tyler:

So now. She also said that there's on the app. If you're doing it beforehand, there's a time limit to the amount of time you can put your kid in there. She's like on the ship. They have a lot more leeway, so she's like you can.

Tyler:

You can get way more she's like we have a different schedule on board than what you can book online, so they have more flexibility as far as, like, when you can do it, they also have, like you can do, more time you can do so all kinds of so, on your first day, if you can, yes, but even still like there was a couple of times where we had to switch things around, where we decided to do a show or whatever.

Jessica:

Like literally like an hour before, and they were like yeah, no problem, so they're. They're more flexible than you probably think.

Tyler:

I wouldn't stress about it there for that time that we had reserved.

Jessica:

So that's something to keep in mind. Yeah, Even though we were like Now, grand scheme of what your trip costs, you know but it's not very much per hour.

Tyler:

I mean you can't even get a neighborhood babysitter for these prices.

Jessica:

I was going to say yeah For this fully trained staff of amazing people.

Jessica:

But they're amazing. They will lay them down. You can provide. They give them snacks if you want them to. You can provide them with like formula or breast milk, like they know what they're doing. They're amazing, it is, it's incredible, and she absolutely loved her time there. Yeah, every time, yeah, and she would fall asleep there. They like, if you want them to lay them, you can tell them like, please try to lay her down, and she would sleep there. Which listen you guys. I can barely get her to nap home.

Tyler:

I could not believe they would get her to sleep, and they had characters come and visit too Like it's just so fun.

Jessica:

She said Belle went in there.

Tyler:

Mickey like yeah, it's so fun and they do crafts and they got movies.

Jessica:

They've got it all. It's amazing. So let's talk about the main kids club, the Oceaneer club. So, Potty trained three to 12.

Tyler:

Yes, so yeah, you can. If you're a three-year-old you can go in it. Now I don't know I mean you need to be potty trained. They have a slide that goes from the upper deck into the kids club, which is so cool. They have it on the wish to just love that.

Jessica:

Just kind of throw that out there. It's so whimsical.

Tyler:

So you can check in up there and slide in, or you can just walk down the stairs or whatever and go in. So there's all these distinct areas in the oceaneer club. This is all included, so you don't pay any extra for this. But there's so many different areas and there's always so much going on from like, I mean, you can make slime.

Jessica:

They've got characters, they've got crafts going on, movies, dance parties and I mean games so much going on. She said there were like ipads she kept getting. I'm like what?

Tyler:

I mean I'm sure it's, you know, locked down and it's right, but I'm like there were things we you can take a tour when you first get on and I'm like I didn't even know they had these things like exactly so on your first day, on embarkation day, it's like an open house, so definitely go down there and explore, even if you don't have kids just go down, see it, they have this star wars area like it's. It's so immersive and cool and like when we went on the Disney Wish. Chewbacca was just walking around. Oh my gosh, it was so cool. So, yeah, so they've got the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, which is all these like tables and stuff like that.

Jessica:

Like a new crafts art slime.

Tyler:

They've got two, I think, roller coaster simulators there. It's amazing. I want to go play there I know Mickey and play. It's like a small little playground for younger kids.

Jessica:

Clearly for like, yeah, three or four.

Tyler:

Yeah, and then sometimes it's open for the small world so they kind of trade off the doors, close it, yeah, for kids to go play. Fairy Tale Hall is like these three little areas and again, I think they do crafts there. I think maybe the princesses come and visit but they've got a beauty and the beast one, a frozen one and a what's the other one?

Jessica:

I can't think but yeah, they've got different areas there, where again there's just always stuff going on.

Tyler:

The marvel superhero academy, they've got. They've got. The star wars cargo bay, they've just.

Jessica:

It's so cool, there's so much there if you are watching this and you're like I don't know if my kid will be too nervous, I think you, your kid, might surprise you. They do such a good job because we are oldest. She was the one going with us when she was the youngest and we were like there is no way she's going to go and love it. And she loved it. She was so shy, she was painfully like, so we were very surprised. A lot of times it's just kind of forcing them to do it and then a cast member will take them under their wing and you know, and then they'll end up finding something they love and they'll go back to that thing every time, like whatever it is.

Tyler:

But and on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. They'll just message you and they'll be like, hey, she wants to be picked up, and then you can be there within two minutes because everything's very close.

Jessica:

And you never need reservations. They're open till like midnight.

Tyler:

Yeah, like it's.

Jessica:

It's pretty amazing, honest, the oceaneer club is the reason we book disney cruise line over anything, or virgin or any other thing and when they're older virgin right now, but right, but when they're older and like not doing kids club type stuff, like I mean much older. We probably won't do disney cruise line as much, because that well we might. I say that but yeah we love, but we could do things.

Tyler:

It's a big draw royal caribbean has these insane ships coming out. I would love to do them, but we keep getting drawn over to disney cruise line because of the ocean.

Jessica:

Kids will actually go and they'll actually. I know it's um, it's that, it's that good, it's that amazing. Okay, I know this episode is so long, you guys, oh my gosh, but you know what. You know what I'm gonna have.

Tyler:

I'm gonna have one quick thought side thought here. I feel like we're in this era where you get one of two things you either get a 10 second TikTok or you get a four hour podcast and there's nothing in between. Okay, so, uh, entertainment. Yes, we have the main stage shows in the Walt Disney theater the like first night they have Disney sees the adventure. Was that the first night or the second? Might've been the second, might've been the second night. Yeah, the same thing they have on. The wish was that the first night or the second might have been. The second might have been the second night.

Jessica:

Yeah, the same thing they have on the wish.

Tyler:

I love this show. It's like a variety show with all these different characters and mickey and minnie and the princesses, and he's steering the ship, and then goofy takes over and oh, something happens. And then oh, but it's like. Also like some of the characters that you don't see very often, like hercules although hercules is coming into the new one too, he's gonna also, though, we saw hercules a lot on this, very involved in this ship, but um they were testing some things out but it's a great show.

Jessica:

Tiana has a whole bit oh great great show our six-year-old was riveted, absolutely loved it. We really regretted we didn't bring our younger one, and afterward we're like she would have loved it, like if we had just remembered, yeah yeah, so seize the adventure.

Tyler:

Fantastic beauty and the busy is what I wrote here. But beauty and the beast, beauty and the busy I think that debuted on the dream and that it's now on a couple of ships. But yeah, it's a great show. They kind of they. It's really the new Emma Watson version of the movie on stage, the new yeah. Um, they did a great job converting that movie into a stage show.

Jessica:

They really did. We've seen it a lot. Yeah, a weird amount of times. We ended up only watching the first half this time just because we have genuinely even so much that. Genevieve was like I've seen this show a lot, can we? I was like, yeah, we can leave early, but it's really really great. Like don't skip it if you haven't seen it well, here we'll wait what?

Tyler:

okay, we're going to talk about moana one second. The other couple nights they had two broadway stars come out and sing. They were both fantastic, great. They had what was? Oh, they had like this um, these four guys that did like doo-wop was it doo-wop or no?

Jessica:

they did like kind of acapella but kind of I don't know. Yeah, but they were. Yeah, it was all right um.

Tyler:

And then there was one other show that we didn't see, oh, magician.

Jessica:

We saw her like shorter version the day before in a smaller space and Sarabi and it was, she was great.

Tyler:

Yeah, so the final night was Moana. I would have watched this show two nights in a row. It was that good. This is the best show I've ever seen on a Disney cruise line.

Jessica:

It might be it was Broadway caliber, like actually Broadway caliber. And I don't just mean the talent, I mean the staging, the effects, yeah, the costumes.

Tyler:

It was amazing, it was so good, it was so good.

Jessica:

The Taka monster at the end. I'm still thinking about it Like I don't know how.

Tyler:

Highly.

Jessica:

It was so cool you guys, it was so good. And how do you do that kind of like? That is not an easy show to stage. We're talking about times where they're on the water and like, the things that are occurring and like.

Tyler:

How does Maui turn into a falcon and changing like they did such.

Jessica:

It was so cool the way they did all of it.

Tyler:

I loved it. It was very well done.

Jessica:

So don, for some reason, please do not miss moana.

Tyler:

It was very get there a little early it is the most popular show by far, yeah we got.

Jessica:

We were there 20 minutes early and we still barely got a seat. Yeah, so just get some popcorn ahead of time, plan to get there early and just park it and they had three shows that day they had two, four and six, I think yeah or two, two, six and eight or whatever.

Jessica:

So we, yeah, it was so they also have movie theaters the neverland and the wonderland cinema. They have usually like things that are in theaters, right then you could see. So while we were there they had snow white playing. We did not see it, though we were too busy doing other stuff but, that's so cool, because then you can just like not have to pay yeah for like an actual movie theater experience yeah, get your popcorn and candy and go enjoy live music.

Tyler:

They've always got live music constantly, just wherever. So wherever you're walking, you're probably going to find something. So, um so, robbie, is this cool area?

Tyler:

it's a two deck like live venue yeah, but they do like trivia, they do game shows, they do we saw the magic show there they do live music, they do kind of everything in this area, and there's the main area with some seating in the stage, and then they've got this huge screen behind it, and then on the upper area they've got some seating there as well, so you can just kind of walk by.

Jessica:

We'd pop into there, yeah, for a couple minutes, Like sit, watch a bit of the show and then pop out, Because, again, it's kind of like a walk-through venue. You end up just walking by it just because of yeah it's right by the Periscope Pub in the Triton Lounge.

Tyler:

So like on the way to go to Triton Lounge to do trivia, we would stop and watch a game show for 10 minutes and then go on. So it's just kind of a cool kind of all-purposes area the Main Atrium and then the Skipper Society. They always have music, so all kinds of stuff. There's always classes and demonstrations going on. If you look on, your app.

Jessica:

Some of them you like free crafts. Other things are like bourbon tastings and there's just there's again. Yeah, it doesn't end. Yeah, um, we did some, uh, learn to draw. We did learn to draw, ursula I don't want to talk about it.

Jessica:

Um, I thought yours was really good. Anyway, we love to do at least one learn to draw, because it's always just so funny you're always giggling doing it. But yeah, we love trivia. Triton lounge was a big place for that. It was so, so busy, though At one point we were literally there were so many people just sitting on the floor. Yeah, it was packed. I'm like this is probably a fair answer.

Tyler:

It was not even standing room only. We couldn't even stand anywhere.

Jessica:

It was crazy, but it was awesome. Trivia is so much fun. And then they always do a sail away party that is Genevieve's favorite, yes when Mickey and all of the characters come out and a bunch more and they do this whole song and show on the main pool deck. It's very exciting. There's a little, aren't there like a little bit of fireworks, like towards the end. I don't know, they do that on the actual ship whistle. It's just so fun. It's one of those things that don't miss it because it makes you so excited.

Jessica:

for you. It really feels like your vacation has begun, and then you sail away.

Tyler:

Yeah, and a ton of characters come out.

Jessica:

It's just it's such a happy. Yeah, it's one of my favorite things about the.

Tyler:

Now it's right after the mustard drill. We stopped at the room just for a second. I think to to. I grabbed my camera or do something like it. We stopped there for like two seconds and by the time we got to the deck it was packed.

Tyler:

We could barely find room now there's multiple decks you can be on to and experience this was like the thing she was most looking forward to, and we had to like get her, like ask somebody to like move out of the way so she could see, because she couldn't. So my point is right after they're done, you go there and you find a spot, because it gets full fast it's so fun, though, and then um the pirate night.

Jessica:

So, depending on the night, there's one night when I say everyone dresses in pirate costume, I mean everyone. Everyone dresses in pirate costumes.

Tyler:

More than I've ever seen.

Jessica:

Every day more than I've ever seen and we always bring something for the kids. But like we generally just kind of do whatever, like I'll tie the, they'll give you a free um pirate Mickey bandana thing for everyone in your room, and so you, you know, I'll put it on my neck or put it on my head, but yeah, it's so, it's such a fun night.

Tyler:

I'm not talking like you know, just throwing on a shirt that says pirates.

Jessica:

I'm talking to people.

Tyler:

Dad's walking around in full.

Jessica:

Jack Sparrow costume, or yeah, jack Sparrow, or.

Tyler:

Captain Hook, like people went all out. It's incredible.

Jessica:

It's so fun, like when else as a grown-up do you get to do that besides halloween? It's so much fun and so then they have. This time. They had two separate pirate shows. They had one earlier, that was like the full-blown. I'm trying to remember the difference between them.

Jessica:

Yeah, more kid-friendly mickey was involved, and yeah, and it was super fun and cute. And then later, at like 10 pm ish, they had the more adult I mean it was still kid friendly, yes, but the more adult centric, like maybe a little scarier, if you will. Yeah, the red With live action. Is that what she's called? Something like that? It was a part of it and it was like more like rock.

Tyler:

And it was live music.

Jessica:

Fireworks.

Tyler:

Also, the drummer on this cruise was amazing.

Jessica:

He was the same drummer in like everything he was the one you got to chat with.

Tyler:

I was chatting with him, he was he, I mean like they would do, like jazz, and he was playing, like you know, jazzy but then he's up there like rocking out. I'm like he could do any genre he was so good.

Jessica:

He has the most fun job on the ship.

Tyler:

Thank you, maybe I mean, anyway, he was so good but yeah, so like the first ones, like all, like captain hook takes over the ship and it's like a very kid friendly, but then yeah, then with the later ones when they do the fireworks and it's truly like a rock concert.

Jessica:

I have to say it was good, it was very good, um, let's get into amenities, totally switching gears. The fitness center is a lovely. We actually both usually use it once a trip. We did not use it at all but I did I walked through there too just to see, but it's right next to Senses Spa, which we did both utilize. Senses Spa is huge and it is lovely. It's very expensive You're getting what you pay for but the massages we both got were some of the best I think we've ever gotten.

Tyler:

So, good.

Jessica:

They will always try to upsell you on products at the end. So just you know, be aware of that. What else is there to say? You can can get manicures, pedicures there as well, but I, just I love the massage we still have not done the rainforest room.

Jessica:

We've got to do that that was on my list to try this time to like get a rain, you can get like a rainforest room day pass where you can go in, like there there's like all kinds of stuff, and I know on the newer ships it's even better.

Tyler:

But yeah, you've never done that, we've got to do that then they have a barber shop called hooks barie, which I really wanted to do this time and I still somehow didn't find the time to do it. I told you, I know you should do it, but people have talked about like these are the best cocktails on the ship and they have, like somebody In the barbershop.

Tyler:

Yeah, and so they have somebody there who, like, makes old fashions, and I think all they do is they make old fashions, but they make all different kinds of them, so, like you, make different ones. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard they're like amazing. But then you can go and you can get a shave, you can get a manicure, pedicure, you can get a haircut, you can do all kinds of stuff. Yeah, it looks really cool.

Jessica:

They also have Tangled Salon where you can go get your hair did. The laundry room was one of and various areas of the ship, so you'd go and then be like, oh no, I've just dragged my laundry all over the ship and all the washers are full yep.

Jessica:

So then you're like, okay, I'll go to the next floor up and over and see if that one. So you're literally me and my niece who went with us on this other cruise we'd done on the dream we were running around to all these like carrying this laundry, trying to find an open washer on the new ships, at least on the treasure they had. This one, it was huge, glistening bright, white, open. I'm pretty sure 24, 7. So many washers and dryers. You guys, they had ironing boards everywhere you could iron your clothes there are always people in their ironing always people in their ironing.

Jessica:

I would see so many guys like carrying around like five shirts just like that that you're wearing all ironed heading back to their room from there. It just made me giggle, but anyway, lovely experience. So no worries if you need to do laundry on the ship.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

You'll love the experience and you can buy um and you just use your key to the world.

Tyler:

No, no, you use your Disney band or key to the world. No, no, you use your disney band or key to the world card yeah, okay, and it will alert you on the app when it's done. Which?

Jessica:

is yes. The dryer 27 is finished. I'm like, oh my gosh, so now they're very small.

Tyler:

So when we did laundry twice and we have a little laundry basket, it's not super big and we had to split it into two each time yeah each cycle is three dollars and fifty cents, so it's like seven dollars to wash, seven dollars to dry. Just something to keep in mind. But it is nice, if you can wash your clothes halfway through, you have, you can pack half as much, yeah, so especially for a seven night cruise it's really nice to have.

Jessica:

So then of course there's the guest services desk, PortAventure desk. That's where you'll go for any questions about anything.

Tyler:

So if something's booked up and you didn't you weren't able to book it beforehand you can do that, if you decide you don't want to do it, you can go and try to cancel it. I mean, all that stuff is there, anything you need on the ship. You can go to guest services on that right off the main atrium there and they can help you.

Jessica:

And if they can't, they will direct you to where you can get help. So let's talk about the stores. So Mickey's Main Sale is the main gift shop. These are not open when you are parked, if you will, in port, and that has to do with like port laws and like all, kinds of stuff.

Jessica:

So just keep that in mind. But Mickey's main sale was the main one and they had so many different things cruisy things, just Disney things, everything in between. They also had sundries there, so anything you might need medicine type things, diapers and wipes. They had some baby food, bottles, pacifiers, that kind of thing too.

Jessica:

All your Disney cruise line merch Sunscreen all the DCcl, any character, merch all that stuff is all their kids toys, grown-up clothes, bathing suits, like everything that is the. It's basically the world of disney on the cruise ship yeah, like that's not quite as big, but it's still a decent size, not even yeah, it's a decent size.

Tyler:

Um, then you have dory's forget me, knots, k-n-o-t-s. Um, they have that on the wish too. It's up by the pool. They've got goggles. They've got towels. They've got they also got like t-shirts and all kinds of stuff.

Jessica:

Yeah, it's a smaller shop, but it's it's cool.

Tyler:

They've got tons of jewelry shops. Which is still fascinating to me, that Disney has all these really high end jewelry shops. You don't think it's. It would almost be like Disney Cruise Line having a casino on board. Like it doesn't. Like obviously they don't, but I'm like obviously disney cruise land wouldn't have a casino on board. It doesn't make sense. There is so much real estate devoted to these high-end jewelry shops that I'm like it just seems so odd for disney cruise line they should be using these for a sports bar.

Jessica:

Well, and how often are they selling things? Yeah, that would be so you want.

Tyler:

So there's three wishes once upon a time palace treasures, royal regalia treasures untold.

Jessica:

One of I don't remember which one was which One of them was another kind of Disney gift shop where they had like the Dooney and Burke stuff like a little bit more high end but that was fun to just kind of peruse through. I regret not buying a Disney treasure shirt of any kind.

Tyler:

I regret that, but anyways. Well, so to give you an idea though of these jewelry shops they're selling Rolexes. An idea though of these jewelry shops they're selling Rolexes. They're selling like very high end stuff. Uh, just, do you want to tell the quick story of what?

Jessica:

Yeah. So I went in and I'm just literally just looking and you know, one of the workers there was like hey, do you want to try anything on? I'm like no, no, no, no, no.

Jessica:

And then all the price tags are here, and then I asked how much something was trying to get a baseline Like what are we talking? Are we talking a hundred dollars here, you're talking $500 or are we talking a thousand dollars? Well, jokes on on poor little me, because those prices which are all expensive. He was like, well, let's try it on and I'm thinking all right, whatever. And so I tried on how much did he say it was Tyler $42,000.

Tyler:

I literally said and you let me try this on, so get it off, get it off, get it off. I could not believe it. And he's like well, we have some, some more affordable options.

Jessica:

I'm like I live. Whatever your definition of affordable is, I can't afford it. Thank you so much. Do you know how much this cruise cost? Not 42 000, I just I could not believe. I literally was like who? Obviously there are very wealthy people in this world, we all know that. But like what? I just I he looked at me and thought I could afford I, I fought and walked away yeah, I was like I couldn't get out of that.

Tyler:

I thought he'd be like, oh, six hundred dollars, and I'd be like that's no, but thanks, yeah, yeah.

Jessica:

Anyway, two thousand, that's what we're talking, and this is just a random bracelet.

Tyler:

God knows what else they had in there.

Jessica:

This was just the first, it was a bunch of Mickey heads. The first one you picked up. Diamond Mickey heads. We're going to answer some questions for you guys in a minute, but one question we I already saw we got a lot was how does it compare to other ships? So the Disney Wish and the Treasure are sister ships, they're going to look incredibly similar have different gaming, but size wise and setup wise, it's the same.

Tyler:

Yep, just like the wonder, the magic, our sister ships and the fantasy and the dream yeah, so in that order.

Jessica:

We were just recently looking it up. The wonder and the magic are the smallest and the oldest of the ships, the originals the dream and the fantasy are.

Jessica:

We've been on the dream a lot. Um, they're gonna look incredibly similar and they're bigger than the originals, and then the wish and the treasure are much bigger than so. They're just getting bigger every time. So when you're getting bigger, you're getting, you know, maybe an additional lounge here, there, another you know what I mean like it's adding on that kind of thing. Maybe the kids club is a little bit bigger.

Jessica:

Maybe you know aqua mouse yeah, like different experiences up there on the deck, so you're working on a comparison video yes on your youtube channel so right now.

Tyler:

so I'm doing. I already have the wish one edited, so I have the like a Disney wish overview video. I have the Disney treasure I'm about to start working on and then I'm also going to do a video comparing the two ships as well.

Jessica:

So stay tuned for that. That'll be on your channel.

Tyler:

We should mention this too, where we have a ton of Disney vlogs coming out from the treasure. We've probably got seven or eight coming.

Jessica:

Yeah, if you want to see us actually experiencing all of these things, all these stories we're telling you, definitely go check those out. They're also on your channel, tyler Braun correct.

Tyler:

Yes, so they'll be out here very soon. They might. The first one might already be out by the time this comes out.

Jessica:

Castaway Cay. By the way, just a quick passed away key, and you are curious, that's one of two of disney's private islands. Uh, definitely go check that out. That is one thing we got a lot of questions about and we have talked about so, and I have a blog post all about it too, which is very thorough very thorough as well, we'll link that as well.

Tyler:

Um, one more quick plug for the disney band plus. I loved having this. We didn't do it in the past because I was like I don't know we got my key to the card. It's fine, I really liked having it this time. I did it like you can take them out with the screws, and then I bought on Etsy or whatever a little thing that goes on my Apple.

Tyler:

Watch band. So that way I didn't have to have two separate bands. But it's so easy. You're carrying stuff, you've got whatever to be able to unlock your door. You can pay for things. It pay for things you can. There's just it's. It's really nice to have. So I actually do recommend getting the disneyman plus.

Jessica:

The only thing is you have to charge it every day well, and yours wouldn't fit on the charger because it was removed from the thing that is. So you had to literally like line it up just right and then lay something heavy on it so it charged. So it's not a perfect system, but if you've just got it like, if you're just wearing it like I was, but also for the kids club, they can use that as their kids club band. So that was kind of cool too.

Tyler:

And I will say I did also still use my key to the world card. Like you know, if you're buying a drink or something like that, a lot of times they'll take the bill away. A lot of times, if you're getting off the ship, they scan them all at once, so it's just easier to hand them all four of our cards.

Jessica:

Yeah, you'll still want the card for certain things.

Jessica:

Okay. So we asked on our Instagram, which is Disneyville Podcast, what questions you had about the Disney Treasure or, if you've been on it, what your experiences were or anything in between. So we're gonna read some of those from you guys and try to answer your questions. I know, like I said, this episode is so long. Okay, I'll start with this one while Tyler's trying to log into our Instagram. Sorry, it's okay.

Jessica:

Ellie Garcia asked I have two under two and need a vacation. I bet you do. God bless you. Is it worth it with them? They'll have fun too. Yes and yes, and this is one of the only vacations that you'll be able to get a vacation from your sweet little kiddos. Think about it If you went to Florida for like a beach vacation I don't know with them, you will be with them 24 seven still, whereas on a Disney cruise you can get an hour away where you could be with your significant other or on your own and read a book, and they can go take their nap times there If you wanted them to like. There's so much flexibility and it is the only vacation we travel a lot. It is the only one that actually can feel like an actual vacation with our kids.

Tyler:

Where you and I had time, just the two of us, yeah, I mean several where else do you get that? So I would say a resounding yes and we also had so much quality family time, like I feel like we did so much with the kids that was so much fun.

Jessica:

And so remember, when we didn't even talk about our port adventures we did in these various countries, different islands, that were so much fun, so just so you know, we went to uh cosumo, mexico.

Tyler:

Went to falmouth, jamaica, we went to grand cayman um georgetown grand cayman and castaway key. So we went to all these amazing places, did amazing things with the kids and we're on the treasure I mean it was oh, it's, it's the best. Um, all right, I'm gonna try. We got a lot of good questions here, so I'm gonna try and go through a couple here. Disney safari girl said does the adult pool deck really kind of suck? I loved it.

Jessica:

I will say it was crowded sometimes on days at sea yeah, but I do I also feel like it's not as big as I feel like it maybe should be. Yeah, I could see, considering a lot of people have put their kids in the kids club and so it was crowded, I think they could have made it a little bit bigger, but I loved the infinity pool part of it but it did.

Jessica:

I did have a feeling where I was like I feel like the adult area was bigger on the older ships and I don't know, but I might not be remembering it.

Tyler:

Uh. Nicole Crawford, 10, said uh, how did it compare to the wish which we talked about a little bit, but she said what she said. What's the elevator situation like, which is in reference to the Wish, had these buttons where you didn't have to actually physically touch it and it would light up.

Jessica:

But the problem is, anytime anybody walked in all the buttons would light up, like your booty would accidentally touch your book bag, and all of them would light up. It was a big problem.

Tyler:

And so I believe they've now switched that out, so that is not a problem on the Wish anymore.

Jessica:

And these were real buttons on the treasure, so they figured that out pretty quickly. I think it was meant to be like a COVID-y, like safer thing when you didn't have to physically touch it. Yeah, either way. Just yeah, it was definitely a thing.

Tyler:

Heidi Cass, 1013, said would you choose going on the treasure or any Disney cruise over going to the parks? We kind of talked about that. There are so many benefits.

Jessica:

And it's just a different trip. You guys, it's not. You know, you're choosing two very different things. Exactly. If you've never done a cruise and you're thinking we go to the parks every year, maybe we should try a cruise and you haven't tried, I would say try a cruise. Yeah, there's a reason we keep going back, and it's not just the kids things.

Tyler:

Okay well, I know I've been a broken record about this, I've said it a million times, but I'm like the cruise is kind of perfect for our family right now because everyone gets what they want.

Jessica:

Yeah.

Tyler:

The girls love the kids clubs. Like they still talk about the kids clubs even now. They're like. They're like oh, at the ocean, your club, this, that and the other. Jessica kind of gets her. You know. Relaxing, you know you get your.

Jessica:

You can have the spa ice cream all day, all these things that you love.

Tyler:

And I always want to see new exciting places, and so we all kind of get what we want. Like I get my travel bug, I get my travel itch it's amazing.

Jessica:

I'm cruising with the safety of disney too. That's the other thing. Like with travel, we travel all over the world, I would say, and one nice thing about the cruise is you're even port adventures are going on and tours you're doing they're disney sanctioned, if you will. They're, you know, approved by disney. So you know you're safe. You know the cruise isn't going to leave without your tour group getting back if you did it through disney, right?

Jessica:

yeah, so there's a lot of safety built into that too. I feel like milk carton asks. It might be niche, but are they pretty friendly with dietary accommodations, et cetera? Yes, yes, yes. So I witnessed. First of all, on every menu you get, they have all the options you're going to need. They're going to have the vegan vegetarian, you know that kind of thing. But if you have, like an allergy, they are amazing about. Like, for example, we were at Marceline market and I heard one woman say I think it was breakfast, and she said I can't have. I'm going to say dairy, that's not what it was, but I can't have dairy. Does this have dairy in it? And he said no, but I need to make it for you fresh in the back because, um, this could have crossed it. So, like they are incredibly serious, they take that seriously.

Jessica:

Same as in the parks, the chef might come out and talk to you. Like, there's so many different things they can do, but they will accommodate you and I think that is something that is just amazing. They're so amazing about it and they, witnessing that conversation, I was like Ooh, it almost gave me the goosebumps in a good way, Cause I was like I love that they take that seriously.

Tyler:

I mean, every time you get to any restaurant they're going to, the very first thing they ask you is just want to ask are there any food allergies I need to know about? Yeah, I mean see, like at Enchante, I feel like the the woman at the front asked us about it. They asked me about it on the phone. Our waiter at like they've asked it like three times to make sure, like what do we need to do to?

Jessica:

be able to accommodate you.

Tyler:

They're very.

Jessica:

What was funny is the woman that asked it. I don't think she was allergic, I think it was like a more low key, and so she's like no, no, no, it's okay, I can just. And he's like no. Now that you've mentioned it, I was dying watching the car. It was so ridiculous but I loved that.

Tyler:

That's great.

Jessica:

Although you mentioned that I got to lock you up, I got to.

Tyler:

These are a lot of really good questions here. Okay, so I'm going to go through a couple of really fast. 224 said did you go the same time as the zero family? No, we booked them independently and what's funny is we didn't watch that, watch their vlogs, because I wanted to be surprised by a lot I'm still working my way through them but, they're the reason I want to go yet again on the treasure.

Jessica:

I got back started watching their vlog finally and I'm like I want to go back on mailey.

Tyler:

Nicole hopkins, um, said I want to go on a dizzy cruise but I get claustrophobic and nauseous easily. What do I do? So two things. I've saw a lot of people walk around with the patches. They have bracelets, they've got nausea medicine, all that kind of stuff on the bigger ships.

Tyler:

For the most part you don't feel it too badly and especially if you go to someplace like Alaska where you're doing the inside passage, there's not a lot of water movement and so there's things that you can do to do that. It depends on how nauseous you are. That's kind of something you're going to have to figure out. But you can also do mid ship where you don't feel like in your room as much of the ship movement. So there's a lot of things there. When it comes to claustrophobic, definitely get a room with a veranda so you can walk outside. It's a full window on that side so your rooms really don't feel claustrophobic when you're in, but then there's so much to do outside where you really feel like. You know there's decks on the lower area where you can be outside.

Jessica:

And the ceilings other like the room ceilings are like normal and then when you're out in, like the main areas, the ceilings are all tall too. So I really don't get the vibe from these ships. I can be a little bit claustrophobic, like I cannot do inside state rooms. We did it once, I cannot do it again. I can't believe I survived that. And I don't mean that to be like snobby, I mean that like from, even if you're slightly claustrophobic.

Tyler:

I loved it. I've never slept better in my life. That was awful.

Jessica:

I think I never slept worse, anyway, so, but yeah, I think there's ways around it and your better bet is to do the larger ships. They also have the health center on board, so they can help you out in a lot of ways too.

Tyler:

There's a lot of remedies.

Jessica:

Yeah. Brianna Lee 96 asks is the cruise ever a letdown if you're not also visiting the parks during your same trip? That is so funny that you should ask, because with this trip it was longer and we were fitting it in during our one-week-long spring break. Now that Genevieve's in real school, if you will, kindergarten I kind of worried because this was so long that I was like oh, like it kind of stinks that we're not going. We're so close to Disney, like could we sneak in a few days, but A, we don't have our annual passes right now. And so we were like I mean, we'd have to buy the tickets and like, do we really want to squeeze that in for one day? And we basically decided not to. So at the beginning of our cruise we did one day in Cocoa beach. Check out the vlogs. That was so fun. We will be doing it that way every time. It was right near the port the next morning and but we got beach time.

Tyler:

It was amazing and we also got to watch the cruise ships leave Like it was so cool.

Jessica:

So highly recommend check out those vlogs. Book the same place we booked it, totally recommend yeah anyway.

Jessica:

that aside, um, at the end of it we did one night at like a good neighbor hotel, if you will right near disney springs, and so we didn't go into the parks but we still got that kind of disney park feeling just for one night, and then we flew back the next day. Yeah, so that's one way to get that little vibe without having to spend the money of getting disney tickets. Yeah, but to your question, I think I always had that fear too. But now that we've done a few cruises where we didn't do the parks as well, because we've definitely done it both ways I think a cruise is such a vacation in itself and you get so much Disney in that time Character, meet and greets, shows, you know, whatever it kind of feels park-esque. The only thing missing is waiting in a lot of long lines and rides.

Tyler:

Yeah, Now the one thing if you really want to spend time in the parks and you only have a week, there are a lot of three and four nights that go out of Port Canaveral Do three or four nights in Disney World and then fill up the week with either a three or four night cruise, and you kind of get the best of both worlds. You get three or four nights in both.

Tyler:

And then you don't have to feel like you're missing out on either, and also that's kind of the perfect way to test the waters literally and see if you like cruising. That's true, yeah.

Jessica:

And to answer go back to the nausea question. Maybe just do a two or three night cruise, try it out. Yeah, but you know so, do a three night cruise, that way you're not stuck on it for a whole week not feeling well, you know et cetera.

Tyler:

Yeah, kind of get the feel of it. Definitely that's a good idea.

Jessica:

So, natalie Melanson, I'm sure I, I'm sorry um asked how's the dining in comparison to other ships? I feel like it's just on par with the other ships, maybe slightly better. Like I said once we really realized like, go with what they're telling you to order. The food was really good every time and when we ordered whatever we would have otherwise ordered, it wasn't always as good. So we're kind of like learning from that lesson, but I felt like generally the food was pretty good. It wasn't like it wasn't always a hit, but generally. But I feel like that's how I felt on most of the ships. I feel like it's pretty much on par.

Tyler:

Yeah, I think the wish and the treasure are a little bit better. I do too, and I don't know why that is, but I think-.

Jessica:

But we've been on the Dream a lot and I feel like the food was generally pretty good on those days. You know, seafood pasta oh my gosh. You know, you know.

Tyler:

Daniel Hoff Travel said sick hat, though I just gotta say that oh.

Jessica:

I just saw one here, a second ago.

Tyler:

Kelsey N Sutter said no questions, but I'll be on it in three weeks. I think it might be my favorite cruise ship.

Jessica:

I think it will be too. I think it will be too. It was definitely ours. Almost within a day, we were like this is our favorite ship.

Tyler:

So JesseHuber23 said treasure versus the wish for young kids. They're both awesome, they're both great and they're both so similar. The wish is very much princessy and the treasure is very much more adventure-y. Which?

Jessica:

is funny because they also have the adventure coming. I think that the lines are going to be a little blurred there for a while, but again. It's not so over the top that I don't think kids would even notice. And the kids clubs are nearly identical, if not exactly identical. So I really think if there's a better sailing, better dates, better price, whatever, I would just go that way, because the wish again's just like the treasure.

Jessica:

It was amazing the atrium really is the biggest difference between the two when it comes to like the theming, if you will you know what I mean. So yeah, I want to do the wish again okay.

Tyler:

So the wad squad um said first of all. I said, bro, make more podcasts, that's all we really want. And then said roundabout costs. I've heard Disney cruises are expensive. Essentially, is it worth the money?

Jessica:

Okay, so I go back to what we said earlier. Anymore, with the Disney parks prices going up so much, I genuinely feel like, depending on what you were going to do with the parks, it could even out. So there's that piece of it, especially when you're talking about how many tickets, how many family members do you have?

Tyler:

How many tickets?

Jessica:

are you buying for the park versus you're paying for your room on the cruise per person kind of? You know what I mean. And food costs are expensive Food costs at the parks and then here it's at least included. So again, you do have to do a little math and factor that in. So when you're going on a Disney cruise and it's early on, like we're talking this first year, it's going to be way more expensive. It will always level out as the years go by.

Tyler:

Yeah.

Jessica:

So like if you're talking one of the older ships and I say older, but I'm being, it almost sounds mean Because, like the dream and the fantasy, like the dream we've been on, you would never guess that it's an old ship. Mean because, like the dream and the fantasy, like the dream we've been on, you would never guess that it's an old ship. It looks beautiful, it's clean, it's pristine, it's not, it doesn't have a vibe of like, oh, it's old and decrepit. Okay, so I want to say that you can get a disney dream cruise for so much cheaper than the wish and the treasure and it's so amazing. So I would say, from a money saving standpoint, look at the older ships, look at the shorter sailings, especially if you've never done it and you're not even sure if you're going to like it, you will. Yes, so for this one, I mean, we saw some rooms ranging $10,000 plus. We saw some a little bit less than that. Yeah, of course, inside staterooms are going to be cheaper by a couple.

Tyler:

I mean it could be a couple like thousand, two thousand, depending.

Jessica:

They also don't have as many inside state rooms. There's not a crazy amount of them because most people want the foray. Yeah, you know. Um, so they're using that inner area of the ship for like cast member stuff, like storage, laundry. You know what I mean. But then, like, you can find some cruises to even like europe. It's because they're using some of the older ships. You can find cruises out there for less than what we probably paid on the treasure.

Tyler:

Yeah, yeah.

Jessica:

Which is why we're probably doing a Europe cruise this summer, because it is.

Tyler:

Well, and again I go back to food costs. I was just talking to one of our neighbors. He's got a couple of teenagers. He's like we spent a couple thousand dollars on spring break on food.

Jessica:

And they weren't. They weren't at, they weren't even at Disney. They were at a beach. Yeah, yeah.

Tyler:

He's like we, but we went out to dinner each night, he's like, and then we would go out to like lunches and stuff like that. He's like it was just so expensive. So I'm like, if you're factoring that in, especially if you have teenagers, you know, each time at Disney park they go up and buy a plate of food. It's 14, 15 bucks, 20, you know. Yeah, that adds up where they on the cruise ship.

Jessica:

they can, just you can go to dinner and order two entrees, two desserts, two appetizers. It doesn't matter, you're literally allowed to order as much as you want. So, it's hard to give real dollars because it changes, it fluctuates, it depends on so many factors what ship it is, how new it is, where you're going, how long it is. But there are definitely ways to do it, especially trying it out for the first time.

Tyler:

And not spend $8,000. Like in getting to see these places that you know you probably want, that are probably on your bucket list to see anyway, going to Jamaica, going to these cool places, I mean it's so, I mean it's. It's definitely expensive, there's no two ways about it, but what you're getting for the cost is a lot.

Jessica:

Yeah, we obviously love it. Oh, I had a review to read from you guys that just if this was the most magical review I think I've ever read, and you'll see what I mean. Okay, cassandra Grass wrote the churro to my main street. Listening to this podcast is like grabbing a churro and strolling down main street with your funniest, most Disney obsessed friends. Tyler and Jessica are amazing witty, witty, engaging and full of fun facts that even the biggest Disney fans will appreciate. Whether you're planning your next trip or just want to bring a little Disney joy into your day, this podcast is a must listen. It is the sprinkle of pixie dust day to my day. If Jeannie granted me three wishes, one would be for more episodes of this podcast. See what I mean. It's just so magical. Thank you so much, cassandra. That was so kind and that would just made me smile to read. I loved it.

Jessica:

Anyhow. Smile to read. I love that. Anyhow, awesome. Wow, this one wins the award. Longest episode we've ever done, if you actually listen all the way to the end, wow.

Tyler:

Comment gold star comment treasure where will they comment? Tyler on the podcast on youtube oh, like on youtube. That's right, if you're listening, you're gonna have to go on over to our youtube channel which, by the way, I got so much b-roll of this ship, so much footage of the ship, and I always joke that I'm like a sonar, because I'm very methodical about the way I do it. I start in the top deck and I work my way through, so I'm just mapping the ship as I go back and forth.

Tyler:

So, in theory, there's going to be a lot of B-roll. So all these things that we're talking about we will have footage of and see them so anyway them.

Jessica:

So anyway again. Hey, another little shout out go check out our vlogs. Yes, we vlog every moment of the trip. It is so much fun and it's fun to share that with you guys, so definitely check that out yes too, okay, I think that's it I think so well, it has been a treasure bye.

Tyler:

Guys, bye.
